Filmed on location in South Africa and Spain, The Private Life of Josh Elliot is another masterwork by George Duroy, a director who has succeeded in creating a distinct fantasy world with an aesthetic that has almost taken on a life of its own. BelAmi takes it's name from a story by french writer Guy deMaupassant. Like many writers who continually address the same themes or painters who always seem to paint the same pictures, director DuRoy sometimes seems to be making the same films over and over. Rather than becoming boring, however, DuRoy has been continually perfecting his craft as he shares his own sexual pre-occupations with us. Namely, youth, beauty, homoerotic passion, and idyllic settings of leisure and adventure.

In this age of reality television, it seems almost inevitable that we should now be seeing reality porn. In The Private Life of Josh Elliot, director DuRoy follows one of his star models, Josh Elliot, as he goes about his life and sexual adventures. Josh always seems to have a hard-on and, unlike many more flexible BelAmi models he's a total top. That unusual trait helps to make him somehow a little larger than life, like some kind of young Fuck God who wanders the world and randomly selects people to be sexual objects. They can't seem to resist, and can you blame them?

Both fans of BelAmi or newcomers to the world of George DuRoy will appreciate this top notch, incredibly hot title. As usual, production values are excellent and the DVD is packed with 120 minutes of the dreamy euro twinks who cross Josh's path. The film is presented in 1:78 widescreen (optimized for 16x9 TVs) and the audio is available in Czech or Slovak in Dolyby Digital 2.0 (with English subtitles). Extras include trailers, chapters, and a separate index to scenes by sex act.
